Check awarded to SHINE afterschool program

Tracey Ciesnolevicz, community relations program manager for UGI Utilities Inc. of Reading, right, presents a check in the amount of $30,000 to Jeanne Miller, director of the SHINE Afterschool program in Carbon and Schuylkill counties, during the recent 14th annual National Lights On Celebration, held locally at Carbon Career & Technical Institute in Jim Thorpe. UGI recognizes the importance of providing the children of the community with access to quality educational programs like SHINE and the Career Academy, which help children academically and socially, as well as highlights careers of the future.
