Vehicle stop leads to arrests
A vehicle stop of an erratic driver led to the arrest of the driver and two passengers.
On Sept. 4 about 6:35 p.m. Pocono Mountain Regional police were alerted to an erratic driver along SR940 in Mount Pocono. Police observed the vehicle and made a traffic stop.
The driver was identified as Andrew Conroy, 22, of Cresco. Conroy appeared to be impaired and failed field sobriety tests. He was then asked for a consent search of the vehicle, which he granted.
Two passengers in the vehicle were identified as Stacy Crudele, 27, and Joseph Dimick, 28, both of Mount Pocono. Found in the vehicle was numerous used and full bags of suspected heroin, along with items of drug paraphernalia.
Conroy was placed under arrest and taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for a blood test. The test results indicated Conroy was under the influence of heroin.
As a result of the investigation police charged Conroy with driving under the influence (DUI) of a controlled sustance and possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia. Crudele and Dimick were both charged with possession of heroin.
