Published October 15. 2013 05:00PM

A Pottsville man escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 4 p.m. Oct. 10 on Route 61 in New Castle Township.

State police at the Frackville barracks said Jerry W. Pflueger, 42, was driving a 1996 Chevrolet Tahoe southbound, about 1.3 miles north of Darkwater Road, and was rounding a left curve when he failed to maintain his lane of travel. Police said the vehicle left the roadway and struck an embankment on the west side of the road before flipping onto its driver's side and sliding across both lanes before coming to rest against the guardrails.

Police said he will be issued traffic citations for having caused the accident.
