One person was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 8:10 a.m. Oct. 10 on Route 61 in New Castle Township.

State police at the Frackville barracks said Amanda J. Ritchey-Whary, 33, of Sunbury, suffered minor injuries in the mishap.Police said she was driving a 2002 Suzuki Aerio southbound on Route 61 when she failed to stop in time for the vehicle that stopped in front of her vehicle, causing the Suzuki to strike the rear of a 1998 GMC 7500 that had been driven by Kyle A. Wiest, 26, of Elizabethville, Pa.Police said Ritchey-Whary will be cited for failure to drive at a safe speed.
