Sheriff's deputy speaks to Woman's Club

The Nesquehoning Woman's Club held an informative talk by Lt. David Midas of the Carbon County Sheriff's Office at its meeting. He spoke on media scams and works closely with Rep. Doyle Heffley and Senator John Yudichak in combating this problem. He told the women about several types of phone calls and to be aware that they trigger the elderly. Some even come door to door. So don't give out any personal information. The next regular meeting is set for Nov. 4 with the Kaska Ukrainian dancers for entertainment. Midas is seen with club members Judy Moon, left, and Jane Pietruch. The club will be selling gas tickets at Redner's on Nov. 23.
