Identity theft incidents probed

State police at Lehighton reported on identity theft and access device fraud incidents.

Corey Smith, 21, of 479 Pheasant Rd., Saylorsburg, Ross Township, Monroe County, reported someone obtained his personal information and opened an insurance account and then withdrew $300 from his bank account. The incident occurred sometime between Aug. 5 and Sept. 5.

Dennis Erb, of Cross Ridge Court, Ross Township, reported someone hacked into his PayPal account and fraudulently purchased several gift cards in the amount of $687. The incident was reported on Sept. 25.

William Foder, 51, of Saylorsburg, Ross Township, reported someone used his credit card. The incident was reported at 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 3.
