Children and families were treated to various activities during the Middleport Fire Company's annual fire prevention and safety fair held inside and outside their fire house. The fair consisted of many interactive activities, including fire presentations, simulated smoke chamber, Smokey Bear presentation, and truck seatings. Firefighters and volunteers from surrounding fire companies were also on hand showing their fire trucks. Dave Duffy, fire chief, New England/Walker Township Fire Company, shows John Ryan Difilippo, 5, of Middleport, how much damage can be caused from a forest fire. Duffy also serves as a local forest fire warden.
