A Northampton County motorcyclist was injured in a crash in Carbon County on Sept. 29.

State police at Lehighton said Brandon J. Rondish, 22, of Bath, was driving a 2002 Yamaha R6 eastbound about 5:20 p.m. along Lower Smith Gap Road in Lower Towamensing Township, and attempting to negotiate a left curve when he lost control.

The bike laid down on its side and slid before coming to rest. Rondish was taken by Palmerton ambulance to the Lehigh Valley Hospital (LVH), Salisbury Township, for treatment of what troopers called moderate injuries. Troopers said Rondish was cited for driving a vehicle at a (un) safe speed.

Another motorcycle crash was reported on Sept. 29 about 6 p.m. along SR534, near the Carbon/Monroe Line in Monroe County. Emilio Lois, 44, of Sayerville, N.J., lost control of his bike while negotiating a left curve and crashed.

Troopers said Emilio sustained serious injuries and was flown by Medevac helicopter to the LVH. Polk Township Fire Company volunteers and West End ambulance personnel assisted at the scene.
