Theft of diesel fuel investigated

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating the theft of diesel fuel from a parked vehicle, and a spree of vandalism in which numerous mailboxes were damaged.

The fuel was stolen from the parked truck of Carlisle Carrier Corporation, of Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County. The truck was parked on a lot at the Pilot Truck Stop, 482 Suedberg Road, in Pine Grove Township. The theft occurred sometime between 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, and 6 p.m. on Sunday. About 100 gallons was taken, troopers said.

The mischief spree occurred in the area of Seltzer Road in Norwegian Township. About 10 mailboxes were damaged. The incident occurred sometime between 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, and 3 a.m. on Sunday.
