Theft of copper being probed

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating the theft of copper pipes from a Schuylkill County site.

Troopers said unknown criminals entered the property at 19 Austin Drive, in East Norwegian Township, and forcibly entered two buildings on the property. They then removed copper pipes. The incident occurred sometime between Sept. 26 and 29.

The property is owned by Bernie Kuperavage, of Cumbola, Blythe Township.

Troopers also reported someone entered the residence of Kaleen Marie Zerbe, 27, of 748 Mountain Rd., in Pine Grove Township. Once inside the intruders walked into the basement area but did not take anything. They then left the area in a light-colored pick-up truck. The incident occurred sometime between 4:30 and 5 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 30.
