Published November 25. 2013 05:00PM

Two Schuylkill County men were seriously injured Saturday in a crash. State police at Schuylkill Haven said the accident occurred about 6:20 p.m. along Keefer Road in Pine Grove Township.

Troopers said Tyler Schaeffer, 21, of Pine Grove, was driving a 2002 Ford Focus eastbound at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the car. The vehicle went onto the north berm with the front passenger side of the car impacting with two trees simultaneously. The car then spun counter-clockwise about 180 degrees and the rear impacted with another tree.

A front seat passenger, Adam Zerbe, 19, also of Pine Grove, was ejected from the vehicle and Schaeffer was partially ejected.

Both were flown by LifeLion helicopter to the Hershey Medical Center for treatment of what troopers said were severe injuries.

Troopers said the investigation is continuing and pending toxicology results.
