Man admits to child pornography charge

A Carbon County man admitted to a child pornography charge while another county resident pleaded in a sexual assault case.

The two appeared before Judge Steven R. Serfass on Tuesday to enter their pleads.

Sean Matthew Hill, 28, of Jim Thorpe, pleaded guilty to one count each of child pornography and sexual abuse of a child.

Hill was arrested by the Attorney General's office following an internet operation seeking out persons transmitting child pornography.

Officials said Hill was found to have a computer depicting children involved in sexual acts. He then transmitted those images to another individual. He also used the computer to distribute the videos of the children in the sexual acts.

He was originally charged with diseminating photos/film of children sex acts, child pornography, and criminal use of a communication device.

Serfass deferred sentencing and ordered the adult probation office to prepare a presentence investigation report.

Serfass also said the charges fall under the provisions of Megan's Law so Hill must undergo a sexual offenders evaluation to determine if he is a violent sexual predator.

Sexual assault

Robert Conde II, 23, of Albrightsville, entered a guilty plea to two counts of corruption of a minor. In a plea bargain a charge of statutory sexual assault was dropped. The one corruption count is rated a felony.

Conde was arrested by state police at Fern Ridge for an incident on July 13. Troopers charged that Conde gave alcohol to a 15-year-old female then had sexual relations with her. The incident occurred in an area along Pocohontas Lane in Penn Forest Township.

Serfass ordered a presentence report be prepared by the adult probation office. He also said the charges fall under Megan's Law and Conde must undergo a sexual offenders evaluation to determine if he is a violent sexual predator.
