Yudichak to discuss Penn State reforms

Published November 19. 2013 06:00PM

State Sen. John Yudichak (D-Luzerne/Carbon/Monroe) and Senate Appropriations Committee Chair Jake Corman (R-Centre) will hold a Capitol news conference on Wednesday to address the necessity for Penn State board governance reforms.

The news conference will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Capitol Media Center at the State Capitol in Harrisburg.

Yudichak will also unveil legislation at the news conference that would make significant reforms to the structure of the Board of Trustees.

"The Penn State Board of Trustees, as currently composed, is out of step with the majority of other major public research universities across the country," Yudichak said. "The legislature has been an important partner to Penn State University throughout history and it is time that we legislatively address the glaring limitations in the current governance structure."
