Vehicle stop leads to drug charges

Published November 16. 2013 09:28AM

A vehicle stop in Carbon County earlier this month has led to drug charges being filed against the driver.

State police at Fern Ridge said Sylvester Richard Greene Jr., 31, of Philadelphia, was stopped about 4:32 p.m. Nov. 6, along Interstate 80 westbound in Kidder Township for speeding.

During the course of the stop troopers observed multiple indicators of illegal activity. A consent search of the vehicle was conducted and found was a bag containing crack cocaine. A search of Greene led to the discovery of over 60 grams of cocaine and a small amount of marijuana.

He was placed under arrest and taken into custody and charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and related drug charges.
