Tamaqua man cited for incident at diner
A Tamaqua man was cited following an incident at the Tamaqua Diner on Nov. 2.
Police were dispatched to the Center Street restaurant at 5:42 a.m. for a man in the parking lot reportedly swinging a baseball bat. As Patrolman Thomas Rodgers responded, he found Dennis Walter Helfrich, 41, of 425 N. Railroad St., at the rear door to Tamaqua Borough Hall. Helfrich was visibly intoxicated and admitted to being at the diner.
He was cited for public drunkenness, disorderly conduct, and harassment.
