November 15, 1940 Frank Priggins reaches the end zone three times to lead Coaldale to a 24-6 victory over Ashland. The Tigers, coached by Tom Raymer, actually receive the first score from Charley Melley, who takes a lateral from "Teeler" Jabbo, to complete a 38-yard touchdown run. A 25-yard punt return by Priggins sets up his 14-yard scoring run later in the first quarter while two fumbles aid his other two scores. A recovery by Frank Surotchak leads to a Priggins six-yard tally, while Walt Macenka also pounces on a loose ball to set up a Priggins one-yard TD.
