A Tamaqua man was lodged in the Schuylkill County Prison in Pottsville on Oct. 26 after he attempted to kick in the door to his parents' home.

William Manness Jr., 32, of 409 W. Broad St., reportedly went to the home of his parents at 326 W. Rowe St. at 3:10 p.m. When his mother refused to allow him entry, he kicked the front door, breaking the frame.

When police arrived Manness was sitting on the front sidewalk. He admitted damaging the door.

He was video arraigned before duty District Judge James Kilker, of Shenandoah, on charges of criminal trespass. Bail was set at $10,000. Unable to post the required 10 percent, Manness was lodged in the prison.
