Home is damaged in vehicle crash
State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks said a home in East Norwegian Township sustained major structural damages when it was struck by a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer whose driver said he had lost its brakes on Nov. 10 at 8:04 a.m.
Police said Timothy A. Reed, 27, of Pottsville, was operating the vehicle south on McCord Avenue when the brakes failed. The driver told police he tried to downshift and use the emergency brake on the Blazer, but was unable to slow it down. The vehicle traveled through the intersection of Caroline Avenue, went into a driveway and struck the home.
Police said the Yorkville Hose Company responded and reinforced the structure from collapsing.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
