Luzerne man charged with theft

A Luzerne County man was arrested for retail theft at a Schuylkill County store on Wednesday, Nov. 6, and ended up jailed on an outstanding warrant.

State police at Frackville said James Edward Davis Jr., 21, of Hazleton, was stopped by store security at the Sears store in the Schuylkill Mall, New Castle Township, about 7:50 p.m. Store security observed him taking a Nintendo DS video game system from the store and exiting without paying for it. The game is valued at $199.99.

After being taken into custody troopers learned that Davis had a warrant issued for his arrest out of Luzerne County. He was charged with the Sears incident then placed in the county prison in Pottsville on the Luzerne warrant.
