Charged with DUI by McAdoo police

Published November 09. 2013 09:00AM

Frank Pientko of 214 W. Sherman St., McAdoo, has been charged in connection with an incident in McAdoo on Sept. 28.

Patrolman William Curilla was on patrol at 10:30 p.m. that day when he observed a blue Plymouth Voyager, with a malfunctioning tail light, traveling on Washington Street. The van then turned right on to Hancock Street, with the driver failing to use a turn signal.

The officer initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver as Pientko.

Due to the man's slow responses to the officer's questions, he was asked if he was on medication or had been drinking. Pientko noted he had taken seven or eight different medications and admitted to drinking at least a half a beer.

He was given and failed several field sobriety tests and was cited for driving under the influence and traffic violations.
