Carbon club cited by liquor board

A Carbon County social club has been cited by the Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state Liquor Control Board for violating the state liquor code.

The Summit Hill Legion Home Association, 100 E. Lehigh St., Summit Hill, has been cited for on March 6 and April 7 possessing or operating gambling devices or paraphernalia or permitted gambling or lotteries, poolselling and/or bookmaking on the licensed premises.

This charge will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious ones. In addition, the judge an also can impose a license suspension or revocation based on the severity of the charge brought.
