Schuylkill driver facing DUI count

A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident that occurred about 12:59 a.m. on Sunday, May 26.

State police at Frackville said Francis Gaffney, 41, of Ashland, was stopped along SR4030, just east of SR54, in Butler Township, for a traffic violation. He was found to be under the influence and placed under arrest.

He was taken for a blood test, troopers said. The DUI charge is pending the test results. He is also facing numerous motor vehicle code violations, troopers added.
