Allen O. Delke Post 16 plans Memorial Day services

American Legion Post 16, Slatington, will hold Memorial Day services in outlying cemeteries on Sunday, May 26. They will be leaving the Post Home at 8 a.m. They will visit the Williamstown Cemetery at 8:10 a.m.; Jacksonville Cemetery at 8:40 a.m.; New Tripoli

U.C.C. Cemetery at 9:15 a.m.; and Heidelberg

U.C.C. at 9:45 a.m.: Neff's Lutheran Cemetery at 10:15 a.m.; Seventh Street Catholic Church, 10:45 a.m.; Union Cemetery, 11 a.m.; Friedens Cemetery at 11:15 a.m.; Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 11:45 a.m. and then back to the Post home for dinner. Legionnaires, Auxiliary, Sons of American Legion and Legion Riders are invited to attend.Schedule for Monday, May 27, leaving the Post Home at 8 a.m.; Catholic Cemetery Washington Street, Slatington, 8:05 a.m.; Slatedale Cemetery, 8:30 a.m.; Trout Creek - New Covered Bridge in Slatington, 8:50 a.m.; and then back to the Post home to form the parade in Slatington at 9:30 a.m.On Memorial Day, m Monday, May 27, the American Legion Post 16, will hold its 93rd Consecutive Memorial Day Parade and Services at the Fairview Cemetery in Slatington. The main speaker will be Col. David J. Griffiths, Retired, United States Army. The parade will start at 10 a.m. from Main and Second streets, and proceed to the Fairview Cemetery. Services at the cemetery will start at 10:30 a.m.In case of inclement weather, services will be held at the Slatington Baptist Church, 509 Main St., Slatington at 10:30 a.m. Everyone invited to attend.
