Elementary students and staff at the West Penn Elementary School enjoyed a fun day of outdoor activities recently during the school's annual Olympic Fun Day.

The day consisted of many activities; such as golf walk-a-thon, football, foam bow and arrow, clothesline race, obstacle coarse, hockey, basketball, balloon toss, long jump, three-legged race, softball, long jump, soccer and more.

Family members were also encouraged to stop and cheer on their kids during the event, as well as join them during the student picnic lunch. Teachers, staff and West Penn PTO members took a key role in organizing the event. Also assisting were members of the Tamaqua High Schools student council and students with the National Honor Society.
