A Monroe County man is facing charges following an incident at a county service station in which he caused damages.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said they were called to the Penn Mart, located along SR196, in Coolbaugh Township, about 9:30 a.m. on May 3 to a report of a disorderly person, who left prior to the arrival of the officers.

On scene police learned that Lamont Capers, 50, of Tobyhanna, pulled out from the gas pump with the nozzle still in his gas tank causing an estimated $405 in damages.

When confronted by store managers Capers became combative with them in the office area. He then refused to leave the office. When Capers was told police were going to be called, he said they should be because he is the police.

Capers has been charged with two counts of disorderly conduct and one count of criminal mischief, police said.
