Schuylkill crashes

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on two crashes probed by troopers on Schuylkill County roadways.

A two vehicle crash was reported about 1:29 p.m. on May 9 along SR61 in North Manheim Township. Troopers said Jacqueline A. Eckert, 57, of Schuylkill Haven, was northbound and slowing down due to a traffic light turning yellow when her vehicle was struck from behind by a vehicle operated by Eric M. Pothering, 44, of Minersville.

No one was injured. Troopers cited Pothering for drivng on roadways laned for traffic.

A one vehicle crash was reported about 9:39 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, along Sweet Arrow Lake Road in Pine Grove Township. Troopers said a 17-year-old Pine Grove male was driving a 2002 Volkswagen Golf westbound and attempted to negotiate a left curve when he lost control of the car.

The car crossed over into the eastbound lane and struck a utiltiy pole along the berm. The car then struck a road sign, continued west through a grassy area and came to rest facing east on the front porch at 218 Sweet Arrow Lake Road.

The teen was not injured. He was cited for driving a vehicle at a (un) safe speed.
