Crashes probed

State police at Lehighton reported on two crashes probed by troopers.

A one vehicle crash occurred about 9:45 p.m. on May 1 along Forest Inn Road, in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County. Troopers said Zachary W. Watson, 20, of Lehighton, was driving a 2011 Hyundai Genisis northbound when he traveled off the road and struck a wall with the front end. Watson sustained a minor injury but did not require immediate medical attetnion. He was cited for driving a vehicle at a (un) safe speed.

Another one vehicle crash was reported about 10:22 p.m. on May 8 along SR115 in Ross Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Jamie M. Hewitt, 23, of Stroudsburg, was driving a 2005 Hyundai Elantra northbound and negotiating a right hand curve when he lost control. The vehicle crossed the center line into the southbound lane and onto the berm where it struck a tree head-on.

Hewitt was injured and taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, by Wnd Gap ambulance. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Troopers cited Hewitt for driving a vehicle at a (un) safe speed.
