Palmerton Demos to meet local primary candidates

Published May 13. 2013 05:05PM

The Palmerton Area Democratic Club will hold their last meeting before the summer break on Tuesday, May 14, 7 p.m. at Fireline Hotel, Bowmanstown. The evening will feature a year-end summary, meeting Democratic primary candidates in local races and learning how to write-in a candidate.

"While we won't be having formal meetings over the summer," said Club President, Sarina Berlow, "we always enjoy our informal mid-summer Pot Luck Picnic with the Lehighton Dems. This year that will be on Sunday, July 21, 1-4 p.m. at Bert Holczman's Farm, Ashfield."

The Club continues to collect canned goods at each meeting to benefit the Food Bank run by the Community Action Council of Palmerton Area Churches (CACPAC).

The area covered by the Club includes Palmerton, Bowmanstown, Towamensing Township and Lower Towamensing Township. Meetings are monthly, the second Tuesday of the month, September to May, 7 p.m. at the Fireline Hotel, Bowmanstown. Annual dues are $1/yr.
