Wanted person caught in Monroe

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on a wanted person being caught in Monroe County.

Police said about 8:46 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, officers were dispatched to 9208 Westwood Drive, in A Pocono Country Place. On scene officers made contact with Alfonso Sims, 46, of Tobyhanna.

It was learned that Sims had an active warrant for his arrest issued out of Union County, N.J., for failure to appear on theft charges.

He was taken into custody and lodged in the county prison in Snydersville waiting to be turned over to New Jersey authorities.
