State police at Frackville reported investigating a two vehicle crash about 8:40 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8, along Rauschs Road, in East Brunswick Township, Schuylkill County, in which both drivers were injured.
Troopers said Allison M. Knopf, 23, of Auburn, was driving a 1998 Jeep Wrangler eastbound while Reita Nairn, 27, of New Ringgold, was operating a 1994 Volkswagen Jetta westbound.
Knopf attempted to make a left turn across the westbound lane into a private driveway and pulled into the path of Nairn. Knoff attempted to avoid Nairn's vehicle and slid into the westbound lane and was struck on the driver's side by the front of the Jetta. After impact the Jeep spun counter-clockwise and came to rest in the middle of the road. After impact the Jetta spun counter-clockwise and came to rest along the north side of the road.
The two drivers were taken by ambulances from New Ringgold and Pottsville to the Reading Hospital for treatment. Both sustained moderate injuries, troopers said.
Troopers cited Knopf for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
