State police at Lehighton reported on two crashes probed by troopers.

A two-vehicle accident occurred about 6:28 p.m. on May 2 along SR895 (Lizard Creek Road), in East Penn Township, Carbon County. Troopers said Jill A. Turko, 55, of Palmerton, was stopped operating a 2011 Land Rover on 895 at the intersection with Riverview Drive, waiting to make a left turn when Michael E. Moyer, 24, of Lehighton, driving a 2000 Dodge Neon, attempted to pass her on the left side. The Neon struck the Land Rover as it turned left, troopers said.

No one was injured but the Land Rover had to be towed.

The second crash occurred about 2:32 p.m. on Monday, May 6, along SR209, in Polk Township, Monroe County. Troopers said William L. Nesfeder, 44, of Perryville, Allegheny County, driving a 2002 Chrysler Concord, and Kierstyn L. Rucci, 26, of Albrightsville, driving a 2012 Honda Fit, were both southbound in the right lane.

Rucci was attempting to negotiate a left-hand turn into a parking lot. As Rucci crossed the center line her vehicle was struck by the Concord in the front driver's side.

After impact both vehicles traveled off the road into a grassy area.

Both drivers sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene by West End ambulance personnel. A passenger with Rucci, Joshua M. Rucci, 3, was not injured. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

Troopers cited Nesfeder for following too closely.
