Traffic stop leads to drug arrest

A traffic stop in Monroe County led to drug charges.

Pocono Mountain Regional police stopped a vehicle on Friday, May 3, about 9:53 a.m. along SR940 at the Mount Pocono Plaza for a inspection sticker violation. While speaking with the driver, identified as Maria Colon, 42, of Tobyhanna, officers smelled the odor of brunt marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.

A further investigation revealed Colon had a small amount of marijuana inside the vehicle. Charges were filed, police said.
