Schuylkill driver facing DUI count

A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident that occurred about 3:02 a.m. on Sunday, May 5, along SR61, just north of Liberty St., in North Manheim Township.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Michael Walb, 23, of Pottsville, was observed pulled off the road with his four-way lights on. Troopers made contact wtih Walb, who showed signs of impairment. He performed field sobriety tests and was then transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, for a blood test.

The DUI charge is pending the test results, troopers said.
