The Eastern Schuylkill Recreation Commission (ESRC) winter basketball league is down to its "Final Four," as Shawn's Construction and Batter's Box both posted quarterfinal victories on Wednesday evening in the Tamaqua Area Athletic Center.

Shawn's Construction advances to next week's semifinal contest against second-seeded Vesuvio's, while Batter's Box has a date with top-seed and defending league champion Ryan's Oil & Heating.WEDNESDAY'SQUARTERFINALSBatter's Box-Mike Stower Coal & OilBatter's Box advanced to Wednesday's semifinals with a 67-63 victory over Mike Stower Coal & Oil.Trailing 30-29 at halftime, Batter's Box turned it on in the second half and wore down a depleted Mike Stower Coal & Oil squad playing with only five players.Erick Trabal scored a game-high 23 points, 17 of which came in the second half, to lead Batter's Box. Jim Barron followed with 16, while Bejtullah Mehmeti tacked on 13.For Mike Stower Coal & Oil, Jon Veet (the League's regular season scoring leader) scored 22 points, while Pat Sharkey added 19 points and three three-pointers.Shawn's Construction-Joey B's/Joe's PlaceIn a low-scoring game that was tied at halftime (19-19), Shawn's Construction pulled away in the second half, en route to a 48-35 victory over Joey B's/Joe's Place.Chris Decker scored 11 points to lead Shawn's Construction, while Brad O'Donnell and Tom Toth added nine points apiece.For Joey B's/Joe's Place, Tom Kresge was the lone player in double-figures with 14 points.
