One hit and run driver has been caught and another is being sought in separate incidents occurring in Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said a hit and run occurred about 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, along SR54 in the village of Lost Creek, West Mahanoy Township. Troopers said Casey J. Margerum, 22, of Shenandoah, was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier westbound and failed to negotiate a curve. The Cavalier side-swiped a legally parked 2001 Ford Escort owned by Diane Kovach, of Lost Creek, which was parked near her home.

After impact Margerum continued on and left the scene. The Cavalier was found a short distance from the scene. Through the course of an investigation, and with the assistance of Shenandoah police, Margerum was determined to be the driver of the Calvalier.

Margerum will be charged with several motor vehicle code violations including driving while under suspension, troopers said.

The second hit and run was reported to have occurred along Kaska St., in Middleport. Two parked vehicles, a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero and a 2000 Ford Escort, the property of Luke Ferhat, of Middleport, were side-swiped sometime between 1 and 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 16. Troopers said a vehicle was driven southbound when it struck the two vehicles with the driver fleeing the scene.

Damages were disabling to the Alero and minor to the Escort.
