French, Spanish honor students recognized

Marian Catholic High School, Hometown, recently inducted new members into its French and Spanish Honor Societies. The Rev. Francis Shoenauer was the celebrant at a special Mass that featured select French and Spanish sections. Membership certificates were distributed by Sister Bernard Agnes, principal. Also taking part in the ceremonies were officers of both societies.

Representing the French NHS were: Rebecca Hartman, president; Brianna Kubishin, vice-president; Cassidy DeCosmo, secretary; and Codie Kasmetskie. Spanish NHS officers include: Eric Swankoski, president; Jessica Horlacher, vice-president; Nathaniel Keer, secretary; and Theresa DeFebo, treasurer.Sophomore students inducted into the French NHS include: James McKinley, Lauren Nietz, Annette Ritzko, Anthony Stianchie, Alexandra Stroia and Christopher Weber.Nico Agosti, Cory Brogan, Ashley Fannick, Megan Fatula, Cassandra Hoben, Taylor Harvat, Matthew Karnish, Shannon Kelly, Cecilia Koerbler, Rachel Meier, Abby O'Donnell, Emily Pilla, Kayla Rodick, Olivia Schugardt, Nicholas Sully and Alison Walck are the sophomores inducted into the Spanish NHS.Society moderators are Maureen Heffelfinger, French; and Deborah Coles, Spanish.The students, their parents and guests were treated to a continental breakfast following the ceremony.
