Barnesville woman among 12 to enter guilty plea
A Barnesville woman was among 12 who entered guilty pleas in Schuylkill County court to criminal charges and were sentenced by President Judge William E. Baldwin as follows:
Marissa Stevens, 23. of 11 Nolania Road, pleaded to receiving a stolen video game and console from Game Stop Video store in New Castle Township, was placed on probation 18 months, and assessed $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA) fund.
Stevens had previously been placed in the Accelerated Rehabilative Disposition (ARD) probation program to serve 12 months but it was revoked. Had she completed the program her name would have been cleared of the criminal charge. She was cited by Trooper Brent Spleen.
Sabrina Renee McClain, 44, Tower City, driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol, sentenced to serve 30 days in the county prison with the sentence to commence Monday, March 25, followed by four years and 11 months on probation in the Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP), fined $1,500, pay $300 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $100 to Catastrophe fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center (SMC)-South, perform 20 hours community service, attend alcohol highway safety school, complete outpatient substance abuse treatment, driver's license suspended 18 months, and the first 12 months when resumed to drive must install ignition interlock on steering wheel. McClain was cited by Trooper Stephen Kleeman when stopped on East Church Street in Porter Township.
Kathy Lee Rummel, 28, Pottsville, DUI of drug and alcohol, sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in the county prison beginning Monday, March 25, at 9 a.m., fined $1,000, pay $300 to SAE fund, $50 to MCARE fund, $60 to SMC-South, attend safety school and receive outpatient counseling. Rummel was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Michael P. Stank.
Stephanie Marie White, 32, Minersville, delivery of a controlled substance in100 block on North Street, Minersville, sentenced to serve six to 23 months in the county prison with the sentence to begin Monday, March 25, at 9 a.m., and make restitution of $176 to Bethlehem Regional Lab. White was cited by Patrolman Jeffrey R. Bowers.
John Francis Murphy, 48, Minersville, delivery of a controlled substance at his home on 131 South St., sentenced to serve five to 23 months in the county prison with the sentence to begin Monday, April 1, at 9 a.m., pay $100 to SAE fund, perform 20 hours community service, and make restitution of $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab. Murphy was cited by Patrolman Joseph R. Bowers.
Andrew Scott Lehman, 30, Port Carbon, receiving 500 pounds of stainless steel pipe stolen from warehouse owned by Yuenglings Brewery, placed on probation 12 months, pay $50 to CJEA fund, perform 20 hours community service, and make restitution of $166 to D.G.Yuengling and Sons. Lehman was cited by Port Carbon Chief Jon J. Bowman.
Tammy Josephine McShaw, 44, Minersville, four counts of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and one count each of criminal conspiracy, retail theft and criminal attempt to possess a controlled substance, sentence was deferred to a later date. McShaw was cited by Pottsville police.
Jeffrey Allen Verbash, 48, Frackville, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, sentence deferred to a later date. Verbash was cited by Port Carbon Chief Jon Bowman.
Frederick A. Yeastedt, 30, Saint Clair, two counts of simple assault, placed on probation 12 months, pay $50 to CJEA fund, and perform 20 hours community service. He was cited by Minersville Patrolman Thomas F. Horan, following a confrontation at Yocko's Bar.
John Paul Phillips, 54, Ringtown, terroristic threats and simple assault, sentenced to serve six to 23 months in the county prison with the sentence to begin Sunday, March 24, at 9 a.m., and he is permitted to participate in the work release program. Phillips was cited by Trooper Mario Pompei when he fired a shot over the head of a fuel delivery man.
Dex Alan Mahute, 22, Schuylkill Haven, two counts of receiving stolen jewelry, placed on probation 23 months, pay $50 to CJEA fund, make restitution of $1,600 to Eleanor Simmedinger, and $813 to Virginia Carl, both of Schuylkill Haven. Mahute was cited by Patrolman Vincent J. McDonald.
Neil Kevin Langtry, 55. Schuylkill Haven, DUI of alcohol, sentenced to serve 30 days in the county prison beginning Friday, March 22, followed by four years and 11 months on probation in IPP, fined $1,500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $100 to Catastrophe fund, attend safety school, complete outpatient substance abuse treatment, perform 40 hours community service, license suspended 18 months and when restored must install ignition interlock on steering wheel of his car for 12 months.
On a summary charge of failing to drive on roadway laned for traffic was fined $25 plus $50. Langtry was cited by Trooper Thomas Hornung when stopped on Mayann Avenue, North Manheim Township.
Each defendant sentenced must also pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
