A Monroe County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following a vehicle stop.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said Melissa L. Atkinson, 24, of Albrightsville, was stopped about 2:06 a.m. along SR115 near Blakeslee, during a speed enforcement detail. She was southbound in a Chevrolet Cavalier going over 90 miles-per-hour at the time, police said.

Atkinson was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. She was then taken to the county DUI center for a blood test. She will be charged with numerous motor vehicle code violations with the DUI charge pending the blood test results.
