Franklin Township police, assisted by Lehighton borough police and state troopers, took a man into custody Tuesday night at the Little Tiger mini-mart along SR209. The individual was placed in handcuffs in the rear of the Franklin Township police cruiser. Several officers searched his car, which was parked at a gas pump, and removed several items. The male was given a field sobriety test and apparently failed. His vehicle, bearing New York state tags, was removed from the gas pump area and parked as he was removed from the scene.
