The theft of a Caterpillar Skid Steer from a construction site in Monroe County is being investigated by state police at the Fern Ridge barracks.

Police said the theft happened between 6 p.m. March 14 and 9 a.m. March 15 at a construction site off the Effort-Neola Road in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said U.S. Pipe Line is conducting work on a gas line in the area, and the equipment was removed from that site. It is equipped with tracks, not wheels, and is yellow in color with a black bucket.

Police are asking anyone having information about the equipment or incident to contact them at (570) 646-2271.
