State police at the Fern Ridge barracks have arrested two persons, one being a 14-year-old female from Effort, for shoplifting.

Police said the incident happened at 2:30 p.m. March 15 at the Shop Rite Store, Brodheadsville. Police said store security personnel caught the thieves.In addition to the 14-year-old girl from Effort, also charged was Melissa A. Allen, 32, also of Effort. Police said she is also facing a charge of corruption of a minor.Police said they stole approximately $50 worth of merchandise before being caught.
