Northern Lehigh students to present spring musical
Imagine a plant with an appetite for destruction.
Not just any plant, but a plant that feeds on human flesh and blood.
Spectators can witness the havoc firsthand when the Northern Lehigh High School Little Theater Association presents its spring musical "Little Shop of Horrors".
The musical will be shown Friday through Sunday in the high school auditorium. Show dates are at 7 p.m. Friday; 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday; and 2 p.m. Sunday.
General admission is $10 each, $8 for students and senior citizens.
Composed by Alan Menken and written by Howard Ashman, the comedy-horror-rock musical is being directed by Nick Sander.
The show is about Seymour, an orphan and a nerd, who is taken in and given a job by Mr. Mushnik, the owner of a run down flower shop in the seedy part of town. Seymour spends his time doing menial tasks and dreaming of the shop assistant, Audrey.
One day, Seymour discovers a strange plant. He buys it and names it Audrey II. While caring for Audrey II, Seymour discovers the plant's rather unique appetite. The plant grows and grows, as does Seymour's infatuation for Audrey, but who will get her first?
