A Tamaqua woman was injured after being struck by a box truck just before 1:15 p.m. yesterday at the Five Points intersection in Tamaqua.

Police reported that Olga Williams was struck by a Raymour and Flanigan delivery truck, driven by Andrew Ballantyne of Northampton, as the truck turned onto SR309 southbound from eastbound US209.

Ballantyne and passers-by were quick to offer help to Williams as she lay on the ground, bleeding from her head.

Williams was taken to St. Luke's Hospital in Coaldale by Tamaqua ambulance where she was then transported to St. Luke's Hospital in Fountain Hill. The incident is still under investigation.

Her condition and extent of injuries were not available as of press time.
