Two businesses cited by PLCB

Two Carbon County businesses have been cited by the Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state liquor control board.

Johnnie's Restaurant of New York, located at 111 N. First St., Lehighton, was cited for failing to comply with the order of the administrative law judge for a citation issued mandating responsible alcohol management training.

The alleged violations occurred during the time frame of Nov. 27, 2012, and Jan. 10.

Saltine Enterprises, LLC, trading as Fairview Beverages, 1215 North St., Jim Thorpe, was cited for violating the liquor code by selling malt or brewed beverages on credit. The alleged violations occurred on March 8, 20; April 10, 24; June 14, 29; July 12, 26, 30; Aug. 3, 16; Sept. 9, 13, 24; Oct. 2, 6, 16; Nov. 1, 13, 27; and Dec. 1, 4, 19, all 2012.

These charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses, and up to $5,000 for more serious ones. In addition, the judge can also impose a license suspension or revocation of the license based on the severity of the charge brought.
