Published March 13. 2013 05:02PM

On Feb. 8 at 12:48 a.m., Lansford police Officer Jeffrey Ohl received a dispatch of suspicious activity on Tunnel Street. Three males, who were reported as wearing ski masks, exited a vehicle and began traveling in different directions. Police made contact with two of the males.

One male, Carl Montanari, 36 of 204 E. Lloyd St., Shenandoah, was arrested, and a records check revealed he was wanted in Lehigh and Northampton counties on outstanding warrants. He was later transported to prison. Police also located pipe and bolt cutters.

One of the other males stated they were in town to go searching for scrap because it was garbage night. The third male was never located. Lansford police were assisted by Coaldale, Summit Hill, and Nesquehoning police. Police are asking anyone who might see any type of suspicious activity to contact police. The number of the Lansford station is (570) 645-5844.
