Mahoning Township police have charged a homeless woman with stealing an IPhone 3GS and kindle fire from a residence.

Officer in Charge Audie Mertz said the alleged theft occurred on March 4 at the residence on 286-125 Lower Nis Hollow Drive,

Police said the occupant of the home said the two items were stolen from her residence.

Mertz said as a result of the investigation, Tory Schlier, 18 (currently homeless), was arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking or disposition, and receiving stolen property.

She was video arraigned by District Judge Joseph Homanko, of Weatherly, and committed to Carbon County prison in lieu of $5,000 bail.

According to Mertz, Schlier stated that she sold the kindle for drugs in Allentown, and, during her arraignment, admitted using crack cocaine and Percocet.

The phone was recovered by police.
