Temple of Israel planning Shabbat services in Lehighton

Temple of Israel of Lehighton, 194 Bankway St., Lehighton, will gather for a Shabbat Pot Luck Dinner at 6:30 p.m., followed by a Shabbat service, under the spiritual guidance of Rabbi Rayzel Raphael. Those planning to attend should confirm their dinner of an appetizer, salad, entrée, beverage or dessert donation to Mary Rockman at (570) 386-5309 or email at by Wednesday, March 13. If dishes require heating, they should be brought by 5:30 p.m. The use of disposable pans or plates for serving is appreciated.

There will also be a Nosh and Natter from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 31 in the Shul Social Hall. Everyone is invited to bring their favorite Passover dessert and memories to share.

Temple of Israel is also continuing the Mitzvah Project of the donation of canned goods to the Jewish Family Service of the Lehigh Valley's kosher Food Pantry/Lehighton Community Food Pantry. Everyone is asked to bring a can of food to help others.

Future dates for Shabbat services are Friday, April 12p; and Friday, May 1.
