Fugitive nabbed

State police at Fern Ridge reported a fugitive from justice was nabbed in Monroe County.

Troopers said Robert Francis Guadagno, 24, of Pocono Lake, went to the American Sport Shooting store in Chestnuthill Township, about 4:33 p.m .on June 23 and attempted to purchase a firearm.A background check was run by the store and it was learned that Guadagno had an outstanding warrant for his arrest issued out of Queens, N.Y., for failure to appear for a drug charge.He was taken into custody and placed in the county prison in Snydersville pending extradition to New York.Troopers also reported on the arrest of another New York resident. Troopers said Carmine William Macchiarola, 30, of Bronx, wrote out two fraudulent prescriptions for oxycodone and attempted to have them filled at the Rite Aid Pharmacy along SR209 at SR115, in Brodheadsville, Chestnuthill Township, about 3 p.m. on June 21.The pharmacist became suspicious and called the doctor whose allegedly wrote the prescription. The doctor denied writing the prescriptions.Macchiarola was charged with forgery and a prohibited act for passing a fradulent prescription from the health and safety code.
