Deer cause of Carbon crash

A deer was blamed for a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 3:50 a.m. on Friday, March 7, along SR903 in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County.

State police at Lehighton said Thomas J. Caruso Jr., 46, of Albrightsville, was driving a 1999 Buick LSE southbound when a deer entered the road in front of him. The Buick struck the deer.

A passenger, Marc A. Caruso, 19, of Albrightsville, sustained a minor injury but did not require immediate medical attention.
