A Schuylkill County man is facing charges after he allegedly used the credit/debit card numbers of a woman to make purchases totaling over $4,000.

State police at Frackville said Joseph D. Tennant, 31, of New Philadelphia, has been charged with identity theft, theft by deception, and forgery.

According to troopers Tennant got the credit information of a 31-year-old New Ringgold female and used it to make purchases throughout the county. Tennant purchased several items and also paid his bills with the information.

Tennant made a total of 47 fraudulent transactions on the victim's account, troopers said. On Thursday, March 7, Tennant was arraigned before District Judge David Plachko, of Port Carbon. He was unable to post 10 percent of $15,000 bail and was placed in the county prison in Pottsville.
